| About St. Clemens | Bornholms Andelsmejeri is a co-op and owned by the farmers of Bornholm. Bornholm is an island, known as the Sunny Island and is situated in the Baltic Sea. The dairy was founded in 1950 and since 1970 the only dairy in the island. We do have 40 active milk farmers who daily deliver their milk to the dairy where it is processed to either liquid milk, butter, sour products or various cheeses. Our liquid milk and sour products such as yoghurt and butter milk are sold in the local market in Denmark whereas our cheese products are sold both in DK and worldwide. We produce yellow and hard cheeses (greek style) besides our famous blue cheese (Danablu). Our Danablu has won a lot of prices both nationally and internationally. As the only cheese producer, St. Clemens has been awarded “World Cheese Champion” in Wisconsin, twice – first in 1980 and again in 1998. St. Clemens Food Products is the export division of Bornholms Andelsmejeri and we export approx. 4500 tons of cheese yearly. | |
